RESPONSIBILITIES  
            The  person  in  this  position  is  responsible  for  providing  day-to-day  manufacturing  engineering  support  to  the  Production  Operations  in  the  Nanchang,  China  Plant.  
            >Oversight  for  the  introduction  of  new  manufacturing  processes  into  the  facility  (including  implementation  and  debugging  of  production  tooling  and  equipment);  
            >an  understanding  of  APQP  discipline  and  the  requirements  of  a  formal  PPAP  Process  for  production  release  of  new  parts;  
            >assisting  with  financial  justification  and  cost  analyses  associated  with  capital  expenditures  and  equipment  installation  or  facility  modifications;  
            >use  of  Lean  Principles  to  improve  the  production  operation  (improved  Safety,  higher  Productivity,  reduced  Waste,  etc.).  
            >will  work  on  a  core  team  with  other  Manufacturing  Engineers  to  ensure  the  plant  meets  all  new  production  launch  dates  and  financial  objectives.  
            >Familiarity  with  the  following  processes  is  a  plus  –  Rubber  Mixing;  Rubber  Molding;  Metal  Blanking  and  Forming;  Metal  Cleaning  and  Phosphate  Treatments;  Adhesives  and  Coatings;  Assembly  Processes  and  Automation.  
            >Will  work  with  outside  partners  such  as  tool  shops,  equipment  manufacturers,  engineering  automation  shops  and  material  suppliers.  
            >must  demonstrate  the  ability  to  work  both  individually  and  in  a  team  environment  as  necessary  to  complete  project  assignments.  
              
            >Program  Management:  detailed  planning  of  all  key  tasks  for  successful  completion  of  projects.  Coordinate  project  with  representatives  from  other  disciplines  as  required  -  product  engineering,  manufacturing,  materials  development,  advanced  product  development,  purchasing  and  sales.  
              
            >Equipment  and  Tooling  Purchases:  assist  with  the  research  of  vendors  and  preparation  of  purchasing  specifications.  Work  with  Purchasing  to  define  process  requirements  and  to  establish  appropriate  pricing  and  delivery  terms.  Assist  with  preparation  of  ECAP  documents  for  run-off  approval  at  supplier  and/or  FM  facilities.  Span  of  control  includes  oversight  for  installation  of  capable  processes  at  production  facility.  
              
            >Financial:  Provide  detailed  financial  justification  for  projects.  Must  understand  the  process  for  justifying  projects  -  which  includes  completing  the  Authorization  Request,  process/product  costing,  Depreciation  and  understanding  financial  measurements  such  as  IRR,  ROI  and  Payback.  
              
            >Provide  Manufacturing  Guidelines  and  Procedures:  provide  assistance  with  manufacturing  trials  and  analysis  of  test  results,  provide  detailed  engineering  reports  and  assist  with  PFMEA’s.  Coordinate  with  other  engineers  and  plant  personnel  to  optimize  processes  and  prepare  set-up/operating  procedures.  
            Provide  training  for  Manufacturing  Unit  Team  Members.  
              
            REQUIREMENTS:  
            >Bachelor  Degree.  
            >A  technical  background  and  strong  problem-solving  skills  are  a  must.  
            >The  ability  to  work  in  a  team  environment  across  multiple  production  shifts  is  key  to  success  in  this  support  role.  
            >Effective  communication  and  documentation  skills  are  essential  (including  ability  to  speak  and  read  English  documentation/drawings).  
            >Computer  Skills:  able  to  work  with  Word  documents,  Excel  files,  create/maintain  technical  documents  (AutoCAD  or  other).  
            >Ablity  to  travel  within  China  to  vendor  locations  when  required;  
            >Resideng  in  Nanhcang,  China.
